This is of course the only animated film ever to be nominated for Best Picture in the Academy Awards (aka Oscars). At the time, it was rather exciting. Now most people agree that the movie isn't worthy of such an honor. Many Disney (and other studios) have issued movies that work better on many different levels. Is this classic Disney? Not by a long shot.
Part of the reason I was displeased with the DVD is how junked up it is with "Special Features". Regular readers of my reviews (Thank you, Ladies!) will note that I am opposed to the inclusion of such supplementary material. If the movie can't stand on it's own, then what good is it? I mean, please, a 'work in progress' version of the movie?? How many times is someone going to watch that?
The songs in this movie will never be regarded as standards the way many older Disney film songs have. And I have always had a problem with the subject matter, which involves human and beast falling in non-platonic love. It is a bit of a weird situation, even in a cartoon, to force upon children who are just learning about "how things work" (if you know what I mean). On a positive note, I happen to love Angela Lansbury, so her exquisite vocal talents are much appreciated. I hope to age as gracefully as her.

Yep, Disney animation. All my students see this movie at some point between leaving high school and when I meet them as university students. Sometimes, their Chinese university teachers show it to them in class. So, I thought I'd see why they love it so much. I'm still wondering. This is a two-page short story, not a film. But on the bright side, if you skip all the songs it's under an hour. I've never enjoyed a singing toon in my life.

I rented this movie at Blockbuster to watch on a Samsung UN55C8000 55-Inch 1080p 240 Hz 3D LED HDTV.
IMAX offers many different movies that cover a wide range of topics that are great for children and adults.
Needless to say, the quality of the movie is simply breathtaking.
The movie shows various animals and species in their natural underwater habitat that most of us simply will never get to see in our lifetimes.

Jim Carrey's narration is an added bonus to the overall entertainment value. He narrates with a relaxed yet charming voice with small jokes you and your family will be sure to enjoy.
With stunning images and vivid colors and scenery, this movie must not be missed.

The only drawback to this movie is the length at under an hour which will leave you either wanting more or simply watching it again.
I am placing an order on Amazon for my own copy after I finish writing this review.

First of all, I am a father, I should say that when my children proposed me to see the movie, I was more than frustrated because of all the bad stuff I had heard about the movie, but obviously I went because they are my children and I should please them once in a while.
I think the movie is not THAT BAAAD!! People tend to criticize only the work of two or three characters, but they forget to see the whole work, and to be Fair and square I had a good time watching it, It had very good special effects, maybe not the whole cast was right for the role, but may be the failure is that unlike "Twilight" and "Harry Potter", this one in particular had no "Hot" guys and gals, to me it's kind of the same thing.
A mystical place of imaginary characters that come out of a book or animated series like Batman or Superman. I think that all the people who did not enjoy the movie was because they could not open their minds and appreciate the cultural touch from Asia. Are they tooo alienate with that?. If you like to see something different and are the kind of human that is not always expecting to see "Perfection" in the work of others you, just like me, will enjoy this movie.

People tend to criticize only the work of two or three characters, but they forget to see the whole work, and to be Fair and square I had a good time watching it, It had very good special effects, maybe not the whole cast was right for the role, but may be the failure is that unlike “Twilight” and “Harry Potter”, this one in particular had no “Hot” guys and gals, to me it’s kind of the same thing.

A mystical place of imaginary characters that come out of a book or animated series like Batman or Superman. I think that all the people who did not enjoy the movie was because they could not open their minds and appreciate the cultural touch from Asia. Are they tooo alienate with that?. If you like to see something different and are the kind of human that is not always expecting to see “Perfection” in the work of others you, just like me, will enjoy this movie.
