Will the output quality of my blu-ray equipped PC notebook match the output quality of a blu-ray player?
I have blu-ray equipped PC notebook with a HDMI output connection and I was wondering if the output quality would be equivalent to a stand alone "blu-ray player" when both devices are connected to a HDTV via an HDMI connection?

Before they put blu-ray drives in PCs, they had standalone drives that performed to Sony’s industry standards.
With an HDMI cable and a decent HDTV, you shouldn’t notice much difference whether you’re playing from a standalone drive or one build into a PC.
In my own tests, I’ve noticed a 90% correlation in the output quality of both devices.
