Why is it taking so long for the classic films to reach Blu-Ray DVD ?
Why is there such a hold up for classic films like "The Exorcist",The Birds,Psycho,Ben Hur,Midnight Cowboy, etc…………….
I realize Star Wars will not be on Blu-Ray in the foreseable future but the current releases are mid level films .
The movie companies must be holding back because Blu-Ray is not selling well .

You got it. It’s expensive to port an old film to Blu-ray, and the prospective sales have to justify the cost and effort. I expect studios analyze where they think the market will be and put their efforts there. The reality is that older films on DVD are selling very cheaply, so a Blu-ray version would have to sell against a DVD version costing maybe 20% as much.
You should get used to the idea that many films available on DVD will never see Blu-ray.
