For family games, it’s nintendo. You can get the Gamecube cheap for now, but with their new system coming out next month, there won’t be many newer games coming out for it. Also, the new system, the Nintendo Wii, will be able to play Gamecube games. Also, it can download older games from the NES, SNES, N64, Genesis, and Turbo-grafix. The older nostalgia games may appeal to you if you grew up with any of those systems. The Wii will be $250 when it comes out on 11/19/06.
