What is the best way to hook-up a HD/DVR, a DVD/Receiver and an LCD TV?
The HD/DVR has an HDMI and an Optical Connection. The DVD/Receiver has Component and Optical. The LCD TV has HDMI, Component and Optical. Basically, I need to know what goes where.

Ok, I would place a call to DVI GEAR, they offer expert advice that is free to all.
In the case you are trying to hook up your LCD to DVD/Receiver , (which i am guessing is a Home Theater in a Box system) 5 speakers, 1 sub, and Reciever/ DVD follow these instructions:
In the case of a TV with a built-in ATSC or NTSC tuner, use the analog audio outputs from the TV to the HTiB system. This will divert the audio from the TV to the external speakers. For all external devices (DVD player, cable box, etc) send the video to the TV and the audio to the HTiB receiver. This will allow you to use the external speakers for audio and the TV for video.
Best of Luck
