Nintendo Ds – How To Download DS Games
Downloading games for your DS can be a quick and cost-effective way to get access to titles which are difficult to obtain for one reason or another. It can also offer a convenient way to have access to all of your favorite titles without having to invest in expensive carrying cases for all of your cartridges (you also don’t have to keep track of all of them!). In order to download ds games online and use them on your DS, you’ll need a few extra items to facilitate the transfer. Invest in getting a good-quality R4 card that includes a micro SD card and flash drive. You can use the flash drive to get the games onto your SD card, which will then fit into the R4 card that can run in the DS itself. These products are offered for a variety of prices, anywhere from $50-$100 depending on the quality. If these numbers make you wince, consider that the average price for a DS cartridge is normally around $25, and this hardware will easily house a dozen games. The investment is absolutely worth it in the long run!
Once you have the hardware, finding the ds games you want is the next struggle. There are a number of websites which house the files you need, and you can obtain them via a P2P connection or torrent software. The major problem with free ds games is that they are most of the times infected with spyware, adware or other malicious programms. Always inspect the websites you download from thoroughly for any signs that the files may be illegitimate: look for reviews and comments that others have made about the download and whether the website has had problems in the past. Before putting the downloaded ds game on your flash card and SD card make sure you scan it for viruses or other malicious software. Instead of having your computer infected with malware or spware, it is better to spend some time searching for the tilte you are looking for and downloading them from a scam free site. In case it appears too good to be true, play it safe and assume it is!
After you have downloaded the ds games file and scanned it for viruses, put the flash drive into your PC and put your SD card into the flash drive. Transfer the .nds file in your download onto the SD card (this may require you to “unzip” the download. You can do this with programs such as WinRAR), place the SD card into your R4 card and insert the R4 card into your DS. From there you should be ready to play, all your favorite titles conveniently housed in one easy-to-carry cartridge rather than a series of clunky plastic cartridges!
With the proper equipment and precaution downloading DS games can be a snap, and a great way to save money on overly-expensive and cumbersome cartridges if you can overcome the initial investment required.
After doing just a little more research, you’ll soon find that membership sites are a much better way to download Nintendo DS games. There are a number of them out there, but PocketDownloadCenter is one of the best of the bunch. The download speeds are super fast, they have all the best new games for the Nintendo DS and all your old favorites, too, and more are being added all the time.
