my blu-ray player is very slow loading up. It also has a hard time switching from scene to scene….?
Is this what all blu rays do? It literally takes at least 2mins if not longer.
Please any info would be great.

Blu-ray players require more processing power than DVD players, because of the increased amount of video and audio that needs to be processed.
Blu-ray discs also use disc menu programs written in Java, programs that have to be loaded before the disc can begin playing.
Some discs can also get hung up when attempting to use BD-Live, which is a platform of interactive content accessed through the web. Some people disconnect their network cable or disable BD-Live to avoid loading times with some discs.
That said, Blu-ray players can have their firmware upgraded. Firmware is the operating system that is stored on chips in the player, and it can be updated either with a network connection to your player or by downloading an update to your PC and then burning it to a CD or DVD. Upgrading your firmware could help with the speed issues.
If the problem is due to slow hardware in your player, then there isn’t much that can be done. Most reviews of Blu-ray players mention disc loading times, you generally pay more for a faster device. The PS3 is still one of the fastest players, because it has more processing power in it than a stand alone Blu-ray player requires.
