while you make a good argument, the VAST majority of movie watchers still buy their movies in a physical form. the blu-ray/HD-dvd debate is going to be alive and well for a long time, because the only demographic that downloads things heavily enough to make movie downloads feasible are young people. if the entire country was downloading stuff non stop, then your idea could be plausible.
