The Playstation 3 Has A Lot On Its Back..
It Will Bring The Next Gen DVD Format..If This Fails Many Companies Are Going To Be Angry With Sony!!!……….This Will Effect Sony’s Stocks as well!!

I would classify it as shaky, not just the PS franchise either, the whole company is on uneven ground. With all the developement costs for the cell processor, and betting the farm on bluray technology, they could be in a world of hurt if it fails. Just for the info as well, the $600 price tag is still $200+ UNDER cost for Sony.
However, the $500 version while it still has bluray capabilities, it DOES NOT support HDMI which will be REQUIRED in the future for BLURAY playback because the RIAA is in a fit about illegally copying movies. So you may have yourself a bluray player, but unless your TV and your SOUNDSYSTEM are all compliant with the digital rights technology that the RIAA is making mandatory, it’s going to be a waste of $ until you do.
