Is it true that 95% of PS3 owners bought one for the blu-ray player?
My friend, in my homeroom class, said 95% of PS3 owners only got a PS3 for its blu-ray player. Is that true? By the way, he is a big 360 fanboy.

I would say not. Did I buy a PS2 for the DVD player? No.
I bought a PS3 to play games. It was nice that it had a built in Blu-ray player, but that is not the reason I bought one. I will say there were some people that did buy the PS3 for the Blu-ray player, because for a long time, it was the cheapest Blu-ray player on the market. I would say that those figures are closer to 5%, not 95%.
Tell your friend if PS3 owners bought the PS3 for the Blu-ray player, then Xbox 360 owners must have bought their 360s for the HD-DVD player, which are now useless.
