Is $299 worth the PS3 Blu-Ray player with occasional game play?

I have had a 360 for as long as they have been out. I am thinking about a PS3 for the Blu-Ray aspect. I will probably get the Muli-system games on the 360 still and would probably only get 2 or 3 PS3 exclusives a year. Is the 9 price tag worth a Blu-Ray player and 2 or 3 games a year or is a stand alone player a better option?

Yes, its worth it. I can give 3 useful reasons too:

    1. The PS3 can be updated with firmware updates via the internet. Firmware updates can improve all aspects of the console and the Blu-Ray player is no exception. Only the best stand-alone models offer something like this and they go well over $600. In fact, the PS3 does one better since you can use either wired or wireless internet; I believe those top models only offer an Ethernet port and no Wi-Fi.

    2. The PS3 is one of the best players for DVD-to-HD upconversion (converting DVD video to HD resolutions). In fact, I think this came in a firmware update, so its an example of improving the Blu-Ray player aspect via firmware updates.

    3. The PS3 uses its excellent Cell Processor for the sound processing. This means that the PS3 can produce sounds that most other stand-alone players are unable to produce.

Many experts and home theater enthusiasts have praised the PS3 as one of the best Blu-Ray players for the money (even when it was priced at $400), given the features it offers.
