If you are using HDMI, you won’t have any problems with any PS3 games.

If you are not using HDMI, you will have problems with a few older PS3 games. But most will still work.

HD is not region specific, which is why its not a problem if you are using HDMI.

Links for games in PAL regions working on the U.S. consoles.

Blu-Ray movies aren’t as strict on region coding as DVDs. A lot are region free and will play anywhere, but some movies have region locks and won’t play in players of other regions.

You should buy a power converter capable of at least 400 watts if you’re buying a Slim model just because its not really confirmed whether or not the Slim has a universal PSU like most Fatboy PS3s do.
