Netflix will only you send you the movie in Blu-ray format if it’s available. Otherwise, you’ll just get the DVD version. I’m not sure if you can change what’s already in your "Queue" (back to DVD), but when you’ve switched your account to Blu-ray, and you add a disc to your queue, they tell you what other formats (DVD or HD-DVD) the movie is in an effort to let you choose.
But best of all, you can switch your account from Blu-ray and back again as often as you like. Netflix will ask you if you want to change the movies already in your queue which have Blu-ray Disc versions released over to that format (removing the DVD versions). They’re pretty flexible.
