If I have a Playstation 3 from Japan can I play American Blu-ray discs on it.?
Blu-rays are really expensive in japan and i want to know if i can play American Blu-rays on it, like from amazon.

Nope, only PS3 games are region free.
DVD or Blu ray movies ar region locked.
So are PS2 games.
