How do i get my sony blu-ray player off of this white loading screen with an odd icon in the middle?
First my player played the into commercials to my Lost Season one dvd. Then after the commercials the screen went white and this odd loading icon loaded onto the middle of my screen.(The icon has a red dot in the middle surrounded by blue circles and more red dots.) How can i fix this?

Simple answer is you can’t….What this is, is the self luanch program layer on the disc. Many studios have this. The red or white dot is the generic one. Some titles replace the icon with another icon that is releted to the movie, example….one of the Pirates of the Carribbean movies has a Doubloon as the icon that spins, Another Disney movie has the hourglass icon that spins. Paramount titles have a horizontal line that simply has the text "loading" above it. There is no way to get rid of these. Be glad they are there, If you dont see it after loading a disc that does not have any pre launch layer, the you know that the disk is not reeding properly, If you get the occasional firmware updates offered by your BR manufacturer, some of them may have software that may speed up the process. ( 1st generation BR players have been known to take up to 3 minutes before the main progrma starts)
