With not many good games released so far and after a little bit of a dry spell, I thought this post would make sense to ensure that people are aware of the upcoming games for the rest of the year.

There have only been a handful of great game releases so far, some of which include X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena but this is all about to pick up and the next few months are certainly something to get excited about as you will see below.

The first large release is the next game in the Guitar Hero series, Guitar Hero Metallica which is due for release in just a few days. Whether you are a metal fan, guitar hero fan or just a Metallica fan, you will want this game because it contains a great setlist whatever you are a fan of.

Another one to watch out for is Terminator Salvation which is released on the same day as Guitar Hero Metallica. This game is based upon the storyline of the upcoming fouth Terminator film. It’s hard to say if this will be a good one as movie games vary alot in quality.

Now, heading into the beginning of June, you can look forward to seeing some of the following:

The Sims 3, although I am not at all a fan of these games, no doubt this one will be massively popular and you can expect everything you love from the original games, aswell as a whole bundle of new features to discover.

Next up is Prototype, this looks like an odd game, granted it looks very good but very odd. It would have been nice to get a demo of this game priar to release, however, this close to release date I don’t think we’ll be seeing one.

This next game will be hugely popular with the Batman fans among us, Batman Arkham Asylum. The new Batman Arkham Asylum game looks like it’s going to be good, just aslong as we aren’t let down by the quality. There is some worries about the release date of this game because there was some recent news that said the game was going to be delayed and the release date was changing from June, however, no new date has been released.

Yet another movie based game is Ghostbusters however this is meant to be released on the same day as Batman. There is some confusion about the release date of this one aswell be there was news that Sony had payed for an exclusive period but that is yet to be confirmed.

Into July we are going to see the release of the latest Harry Potter game to co-inside with the release of the movie, however, just like the Terminator game, the quality of this game is questionable. Although I’m positive that every Potter fan will want to get their hands on this game.

Now we get to the games that are set for release during the months later in the year and on the run up to Christmas. These include Dirt 2. Other games include Max Payne 3 and The Beatles Rock Band which is being released along side a wide array of new instruments for the game based on The Beatles designs. Other additions include Need for Speed Shift which is based on more realistic professional racing this time aswell as other games that include Bioshock 2, Bad Company 2 and finally Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.

There are definately some games to get on the run up to Christmas and I don’t have any doubts that even more games will be announced as we get closer, especially considering Guitar Hero have 5 games planned for the near future.
