    The HDMI cable is intended for both SOUND and VISUAL

    The cable takes care of all audio and visual elements. There are no USB slots on the back of the Playstation, only on the front.

    The USB slots are used for things such as Keyboard, or mice for browsing the web on the playstation. They can also be used to charge the controllers, amongst many other uses.
