Can you use your xbox 360 hd dvd drive to play games?

The dvd drive in my system broke but i have an hd dvd add on can i use that instead

  1. This just happened to me as well, and I quickly thought of using the HD DVD drive, but come to find out it’s for movies only. So no, you cannot use the HD DVD drive for playing games. If you try it, it says to use the main drive.
