98 wont have support for multi-core processors, and it wont support large amounts of memory. You probably wont find drivers for your blue-ray that will work on 98 and many of your other peripherals wont work either. I am almost certain your video cards wont work under 98 and I am fairly sure that 98 wont work with your cards with them in crossfire configuration. You can pretty much configure XP to work just like 98 You can make it appear almost identical even. XP and 98 wont have 64 bit support either.

With a little patience and work, you can make xp almost identical to 9x and with a lot of patience and work you can make vista more like 9x, and from there it just takes a little while to adjust.
