blu ray on xbox 360?

I heard that the 360 might support blu ray. I read that sony and panasonic( i think) own the blu ray format. Can microsoft just use the blu ray player and disk, or will 360 be giving a % of sales to sony for the drive?

    if the 360 does use blue ray a % is going to Sony. but i think that wont happen because microsoft owns hd and wont go against them selves.
