Warcraft Herbalism Leveling Guide

Herbalism is a great profession for making gold, as are other gathering type professions. Herbalism goes well with either Alchemy or Inscription. This WoW Herbalism Guide will help get you started with Herbalism.

To start, you’ll need a herbalism trainer who will be in large cities. If you do need some help locating one just ask a guard. You may want to consider training for Alchemy along with Herbalism since they compliment each other and their trainers are often found near each other.

Go to Hellfire Peninsula in order to get training for the Master level. After these levels it’s on to Grand Master, levels 375-450, which I won’t talk about too much in this WoW Herbalism guide. But I will mention that Alliance faction can train in either Valgarde or Valiance Keep. Horde characters can find a trainer in Vengeance Landing also in Howling Fjord.

The great thing is that once you’ve gotten training you won’t need anything else, other than a bag with lots of space to carry things you gather. You can have a special Herbalism bag made for you by a tailor. Keep your eyes peeled because herb can be found in any location even caves and water. You can sell any unused herbs in the Auction House so gather everything you can. Once you have the “Find Herb” ability anything you can gather will show up on your map as a yellow dot.

In order to pick an herb just walk up to it until the action cursor activates. If you can’t gather an herb or plant it probably means that you haven’t gotten the required skill level yet. For plants that require hight skill look in higher zones. By the way you can also get herbs through instances, killing beasts or treasure chests.

Now let me talk about some of the color codes and their affect on skill level. Hovering over a plant with the mouse will give you this color code, the following list will tell you what they mean.

  • Red- You don’t have the needed skill level to pick it yet.
  • Orange- You should pick this, it can most likely help your skill.
  • Yellow- Moderate chance of increasing your skill level.
  • Green- Pretty low chance that it’ll do anything for your skill.
  • Gray- No chance what so ever of giving you more skill.

I won’t talk in this WoW Herbalism guide about leveling up to 450 but one thing I’ll mention is “Lifeblood”, which will allow healing by getting nutrients and energy for your surroundings.
