Paladins – The Sacred Warriors
For a long time the Paladin class was only specific for the Alliance players. When the Burning Crusade expansion came out Horde players were introduced to this wonderful class and were able to role a Paladin.The only race with the Horde that could role a Paladin is the Blood Elf race while for the Alliance a Paladin could be rolled by Humans, Dwarfs and also the newly introduced race – the Draenei.
A Paladin class is one of the hybrid classes in WoW since they can be tanks, healers or melee damage dealers. Being able to change your build or combine it is a great advantage and will make your game play with a Paladin even more fun!. A Paladin tank is well-known for his AoE tanking which means that he is able to tank more than one target at once which is really useful for many instances. If you prefer to heal with your Paladin, than you need to put most of your talent points in the Holy talent tree. Paladin is a good single target healer, his heals are fast and he can easily be on the top of all other healers in the raid. A Paladin doesn’t have HoT spells (Healing Over Time) and his healing is mainly based on flash heals therefore his gear needs to be rich in critical strike rating and spell power. Retribution tree is usually chosen by Paladins who prefer to deal damage in melee or prefer to play PvP. However, with the Wrath of the Lich King expansion even the Retri Paladins are more than welcome in raids and instances.
Paladins are famous for their blessings which are very useful for the raid members but also highly valued in PvP. Your Blessing of Might, in short BoM, will enhance attack power of any melee dps in raid such as a rogue, feral druid, hunter and dps warrior. They also have Blessing of Wisdom which gives mp5 (Mana Per 5 Seconds) and is preferred by the healers and Blessing of Kings (BoK) which enhances all stats by 10%. Same as the Priest class, a Paladin class can also resurrect and dispel. However, these skills have not made a Paladin famous, it is his “bubble” spell that made a Paladin the “undying” class. With this spell a Paladin can shield himself from any harm and become immune to any kind of damage spell cast towards him. When it comes to armor Paladins wear plate which is the strongest armor in the game. However, Paladins need mana for their spells and attacks so their armor greatly differs from the one DKs and Warriors wear since it has spell power, mp5 and intellect.
Crit is also very important for them since they will get mana back each time their spells crit which also made Paladins famous for their never ending mana regeneration. If your style of game play is PvE be assured that as a Paladin you will be welcome in any raid or instance group regardless of your spec. In PvP, with the right kind of gear healing and melee dps Paladins also rule and are highly appreciated.
