Some people already have another console and don't want to buy games for 2 different consoles. Some Blu-Ray-only players are cheaper than a PS3 (saw an ad for under $200 for one). You still (usually) need to buy a remote control for the PS3 to use it as a BR player, as using the PS3 controller as a remote frankly sucks. Those are some reasons that people could use. Some people don’t play games.
Some people already have another console and don’t want to buy games for 2 different consoles.
