Why would people waste $300 on a blu ray player when they could just buy a ps3 and do everything with it?
Why would people waste 0 on a blu ray player when they could just buy a ps3 and do everything with it? What is the point? You get a blu ray player, amazing gaming system, you can rent movies off it, download games. I just don’t understand why someone would spend so much for just a blu ray player when something like this is available.

franically i see your point and people who don’t see your point of view is dumb but you are right if you want blue ray just buy ps3 its cheap also
Some people don’t play games.
Some people already have another console and don’t want to buy games for 2 different consoles.
Some Blu-Ray-only players are cheaper than a PS3 (saw an ad for under $200 for one).
You still (usually) need to buy a remote control for the PS3 to use it as a BR player, as using the PS3 controller as a remote frankly sucks.
Those are some reasons that people could use.

plain old blu ray players are $300?! wtf? yeah thats dumb not to get a ps3 vs a silly ol’ blu ray player itself.
